This is a known issue that we are currently investigating and it will hopefully be fixed in a future update.
In the meantime, if you have at least one Showdown remaining, then, you can try this workaround:
- Start a Showdown
- Let your opponent win the Showdown
By doing so, the progress of your Showdown challenge will increment even though you didn't beat your opponent.
