DRS stands for Drag Reduction System. Triggering the DRS button gives you a speed boost, helping you to overtake your opponents.

In Qualifying races, DRS is available to activate from lap 1 regardless of being within a second of the car ahead.

In Sprint races, DRS is available to activate from lap 1 as long as you are within 1 second of the car ahead (which may be a car being lapped) when passing the DRS detection.

In Grid Start races, the DRS isn’t available until Lap 3. DRS will be available from Lap 3 as long as you’re within 1 second of the car ahead when passing the DRS detection (just like in real life F1).
