There are three single player race types: Grid Start, Qualifying and Sprint Race.
GridStart: The race begins in the traditional way: a standing start with all the cars on the grid. To launch your car from the start line, you have to use the Clutch button; you can find more information about the Clutch system here.
Qualifying: The race starts with your F1 car already moving and you are in control of your vehicle after a three-second countdown. In this race against time, you are facing ghosts instead of real opponents, which means that there are no collisions, leaving you to focus on setting the fastest time.
Sprint Race: The Sprint Race type begins similarly to Qualifying race type, but instead of facing ghosts, you race against real opponents, which means that there are collisions whenever you touch your opponents' F1 cars. From a rolling start, make your way through the pack and hunt down the leaders.
